Detroit Manufacturing Systems Adds 180 Hourly Workers in City of Detroit

DETROIT--January 16, 2013: Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS) today announced that it has hired 180 new hourly employees and added a third shift at its automotive component manufacturing and assembly plant in the Gateway Center in the City of Detroit. DMS now employs more than 400 salaried and hourly workers in Detroit.

“We made commitments to our customer and our community and we're delivering on our promises.”

The new employees are represented by UAW, Local 600 and were primarily identified through the Michigan Works Association.

DMS, the largest Native American-owned supplier in the automotive industry, is a joint venture between Rush Group Ltd. LLC and Faurecia. Founded in June 2012, DMS produces automotive interior assemblies for its inaugural customer, Ford Motor Company.
