MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – Jan 16, 2013: What Car? has honoured the ŠKODA Citigo and Superb at its 2013 awards event.

The new ŠKODA Citigo 1.0-litre 60ps GreenTech SE 5door was named the Best City Car in the £9,000 - £10,000 category, while the ŠKODA Superb 1.4-litre TSI S was hailed as the Best Family Car Under £18,000.

It’s the second time in 6 months that What Car? has given acclaim to the Citigo 1.0-litre 60ps GreenTech SE 5door after it scooped the What Car? Green Award in the Supermini sector in September 2012. This time the magazine judging panel highlighted ‘the smooth ride, assured handling and nicely weighted controls that make the Citigo an extremely sophisticated little car to drive’ as contributing factors to the model’s outright success in the Best City Car in the £9,000 - £10,000 category.

The SKODA Superb 1.4-litre TSI S also received recognition as the Best Family Car Under £18,000 due to its spacious interior with judges commenting that ‘the cabin of the Superb is so vast that you could be forgiven for thinking you’re sitting in a long-wheelbase luxury saloon’.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK comments: “We’re delighted to receive such great recognition from What Car? Magazine for both our Citigo and Superb products. This acclaim is testament to not only the strength of ŠKODA’s quality, value and design but also proves that our efforts to move a growing brand forward are being noticed.”
