LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – Jan 8, 2013: Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles sold more vans to retail customers than any other manufacturer for the second consecutive year, according to figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

In an extremely tough commercial vehicle market, the Luton-based manufacturer sold over 11,000 vehicles to small businesses. Market share was an impressive 16.11 per cent with Vauxhall topping the monthly retail sales charts in March, April, September and December.

Vauxhall’s van sales were buoyed by the offer of four years’ zero per cent APR finance, four years’ free servicing, a four year warranty and four years’ AA cover, which continues into 2013.

The British-built Vivaro also topped the retail medium van segment for the second year running.

“We are delighted to retain the market leading position for the second year in a row,” said Richard Collier, Vauxhall’s National Commercial Vehicle Sales Manager. “Despite an increasingly competitive market, Vauxhall continues to provide customers with compelling offers supported by high quality, fuel-efficient vans with low running costs and superb manufacturer support.”

Vauxhall remains the UK’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, building over 50,000 vans in 2012. Its multi-award winning commercial vehicle range was bolstered further last year with the introduction of the new Combo light van.

In addition to Vauxhall’s retail sales success with commercial vehicles, the company also took the number one spot overall for car registrations in December, with a 13.17 per cent market share.
