British Ambassador Chooses Ampera-Feel For Christmas

BERLIN – Dec 20, 2012: Britain's Ambassador in Berlin, this Christmas, will be able to slide silently through town in his new electric vehicle, the Ampera.

Sir Simon McDonald received the keys to his new Ampera in a hand-over ceremony from Steve Girsky, Vice Chairman General Motors − looking forward to enjoying all the advantages his new electric vehicle has to offer: low emissions and low running costs, powerful acceleration, a spacious cockpit and − most befittingly for this time of year − a silent drive as if by magic.

For all these reasons − and more, Ampera has already received many high profile awards such as 'European Car of the Year 2012', 'What Car? Green Car of the Year' and Top Gear magazine's 'Green Car of the Year'. Ampera, with its acclaimed range-extender which feeds the motor with electricity to extend the electric range up to 360 miles, hit UK showrooms last May and is available from £29,995 (this includes the UK Government's plug-in car grant).
