Austin, Dec. 10, 2012: Sometime ago a rumor floated across the motorsphere associated with Mike Coughlin's intention to take a '71 Chevy Vega and turn it into, as Woody Allen might say, 'wholly other.'

Given the car culture's typical skepticism , along with the logic of modifying what could only be referred to as a 'pretty plain Jane' brand marque (although I owned one of the little cars back in the day and really enjoyed it), maybe I could have seen a Duster or Challenger, but a Vega?

Anyway, Coughlin went ahead and did the deed, and we're going to have an opportunity to talk with Mike and discuss the build for the 'Yellow Peril' in a feature we're going to publish shortly. Meanwhile here are a couple of shots to whit your fuel-laden whistles.
