MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – Dec 6, 2012: Once again, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has collected an impressive number of honours at the Fleet Van Awards 2012, including the most prestigious title of Fleet Van Manufacturer of the Year, plus the small and medium van of the year awards for the Caddy and Transporter vans, respectively.

The judging panel of fleet industry experts has consistently rated Volkswagen vans highly at these annual awards, with the Transporter gaining the impressive achievement of being named Medium Van of the Year for the fifth year running. It’s also the second consecutive year that the Caddy has won Fleet Van’s Small Van of the Year award, and the second time Volkswagen has been named the Fleet Van Manufacturer of the Year.

The judges had sound reasons for choosing Volkswagen as the Fleet Van Manufacturer of the Year again this year:

‘Volkswagen has strength in depth in its product range, an excellent network of van specialists providing back-up support to fleets, solid residual values on all its vans and good manufacturer support through its funding operations. It also has a highly trained and dedicated fleet team further supporting customers.’

With a keen eye on running costs and value for money, the Fleet Van of the Year judges had similar praise for the Volkswagen Transporter and Caddy.

For the Medium Van of the Year award, the judges said: ‘In a sector where there has been little change year-on-year, the Transporter retains its crown due to its strength of product, excellent residual values, the offer of ESC as standard and good back-up from dealers and Volkswagen.’

Awarding Fleet Van’s Small Van of the Year 2012, the judges said: ‘The Caddy is consistently good across all of the key judging criteria. It’s desirable, has strong residual values and is the only one on in the shortlist to have ESC as standard. A real all-rounder, this solid, safe vehicle also has strong driver appeal.’
