TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – Nov 27, 2012: Honda Australia has been awarded a High Commendation by The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) at the 2012 Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards.

The SCLAA are the longest running national awards program in the industry and are the most recognised and esteemed awards an individual or company can receive within sector.

“This is great recognition for our parts team, who have worked hard to streamline our procedures ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our Honda customers every time”, says Mr Stephen Collins, Director & General Manager, Sales and Marketing.

The aim of the Supply Chain Management Award is to encourage and acknowledge the outstanding achievement of an organisation that has demonstrated significant achievement in managing the integration of supply chains. The trophy was first awarded in 1984 and is dedicated to Doug Beattie.

The Honda team received the Commendation due to their work in integrating the logistics functions that were previously spread across three functional areas. This led to an achievement of a number of goals and targets within the replacement parts supply chain.

The totality of these efforts has enabled more professionalism across Honda supply chain functions supported by best practice, performance measurement, benchmarking, internal controls and documented standards and procedures.
