ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – Nov 21, 2012: Following on from its success as Best in Category at the 2011 Australian International Design Awards, the acclaimed Audi A7 Sportback has been awarded the 2012 carsales.com.au People’s Choice Best Prestige Car Over $100,000.

The result was literally decided by the people, after an online poll that ran in November on the popular carsales.com.au website.

Finalists were chosen from a shortlist of Recommended Cars complied by the team of full-time automotive journalists and key contributors working across the carsales network of websites, which includes carsales.com.au, CarPoint.com.au, RedBook.com.au and motoring.com.au.

The crew literally drives hundreds of new cars each year and chose what they believe are the best of the new car crop. In many cases, the choices are based on multiple drives of multiple variants of each car in each category.

Managing Director and CEO of carsales.com Ltd, Greg Roebuck, stated the format of the awards was a strong indicator of the popularity and relative strength of the brands and models in their respective categories.

“All of the finalists nominated across the carsales People’s Choice Award categories are strong performers. But the new format of the awards is a chance for our audience of genuine new car shoppers to voice its opinion,” Mr Roebuck said.

The Audi A7 Sportback was launched in Australia in early 2011 and is the driving choice of Audi brand ambassador Richard Roxburgh.
