ROSWELL, GA--Aug. 9, 2012:  GS Battery (USA) Inc., today announced it has taken delivery of a Mitsubishi i-MiEV, a full electric vehicle.  The i-MiEV is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack manufactured by Lithium Energy Japan (LEJ), a joint venture company between GS Yuasa Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors.

"GS Battery, continuing our commitment to a cleaner environment, is pleased to add the i-MiEV to our company vehicle fleet," commented Yoshihiko Iwane, President of GS Battery.   "Our purchase of an i-MiEV builds upon the GSB's battery recycling program and our existing solar energy system to reduce our impact on the environment."

"We are excited about the potential of alternative energy vehicles and pleased to test and promote this electric car in our local community," said Iwane.  "Performance of the i-MiEV is excellent and as the charging station infrastructure grows, acceptance of electric vehicles will increase."

"Mitsubishi Motors appreciates GS Battery for purchasing an i-MiEV electric vehicle" said Mr. Yokozawa, President of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc.   "We are very grateful for GSB's show of support and anticipate a positive reception to the national introduction of the i-MiEV."

"Beginning with its launch in Japan and Europe in 2009, Mitsubishi Motors has delivered around 26,000 i-MiEV vehicles in over 47 countries around the world.   They have been very well received in terms of the environmental and economic friendliness in each of the individual countries. With those positive experiences, Mitsubishi Motors decided to launch the i-MiEV in the USA last December."

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV was recently ranked 'Greenest Vehicle of 2012' by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy.  And the i-MiEV scored first-place honors on the EPA's list of "Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year" in the governmental agency's annual Fuel Economy Guide thanks to its astonishing EPA-rated 112 combined/126 city/99 highway MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).
