August 14th Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Proclamation for Launch of Carpingo, the New York City-based Alternative to ZipCar

BROOKLYN, NY--Aug. 6, 2012: Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will preside at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Borough Hall plaza to officially launch Brooklyn-based hourly car share company Carpingo. The new transportation brand is the latest example of New York City entrepreneurship and economic development centered in the borough of Brooklyn. See Carpingo for information and reservations.

12:00 - 12:15 PM: Borough President Marty Markowitz cuts the ribbon on two vehicles from the Carpingo fleet; presents proclamation and gives opening remarks

12:15 -- 12:25 PM: Carlo Scissura, newly-appointed president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce gives congratulatory remarks.

12:25 -- 12:30 PM: Gil Cygler, founder of Carpingo and president of All Car Rent A Car accepts proclamation, christens the fleet and gives brief remarks.

12:30 -- 1:30 PM: Reception for invited guests and press in the Borough Hall rotunda. By invitation only. Local food and beverage sponsors include Bai and Sonia's Sweet Sensations.
