SYDNEY – July 24, 2012: Kia Motors will introduce the next generation Cerato compact sedan towards the end of this year in its home market of Korea under a new name – ‘K3’.

The K3 nomenclature will apply to the Korean domestic market only alongside the K5, K7 and K9. The new model will continue to be badged Cerato (or Forte) in overseas markets.

The current Cerato was Kia’s global best-seller in 2011 with more than 445,000 examples sold.

“The Cerato is, and will continue to be, a very important model in the Australian line-up,” Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer Tony Barlow said. “We are certainly looking forward to the new generation which clearly continues Kia’s dramatic styling progression.”

While creating the latest model Kia’s designers and engineers focused on giving the all-new Cerato futuristic and dynamic styling, with a more spacious cabin.

After going on sale in Korea, the all-new Cerato sedan will appear at Kia dealerships in many overseas markets during the first quarter of 2013, to be followed by a five-door hatchback and two-door coupe variants.
