TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – July 13, 2012: The Honda Civic sedan has been named one of the ‘10 Best Green Cars of 2012’ by America’s largest car valuation company, Kelley Blue Book.

The ninth-generation Civic sedan was recognised for its exceptional fuel efficiency, reliability and value.

The Civic will celebrate a major milestone this month – its 40th birthday. To celebrate, Honda Australia is giving away free Honda Warranty Plus (Five-Year Warranty and Premium Roadside Assistance) for every Civic sedan (including Hybrid) sold before Sunday 15 July, 2012.

Honda Australia spokesperson, Mr. Lindsay Smalley, said this newest accolade further strengthens the Civic’s credentials. “The Civic’s impressive fuel efficiency, reliability and value-for-money make it the best buy in the popular small car segment in Australia.

“The Civic is a perfect example of how Honda is realising its vision for an exciting, cleaner future without compromising on the joy of driving,” Mr. Smalley said.

The Civic sedan’s Eco Assist coaching system, ECON mode and refined engine ensure fuel usage and cost are kept to a minimum. Combined urban extra urban fuel consumption (based on ADR 81/02 test results) for the Civic sedan range is as follows:

  • Civic Hybrid CVT 4.4L/100kms
  • Civic VTi manual 6.8L/100kms and auto 6.7l/100kms
  • Civic VTi-L auto 6.7L/100kms
  • Civic Sport auto 7.5L/100kms

An industry leader and innovator, Honda was the world’s first car manufacturer to announce voluntary global targets for reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and the first to introduce hybrid motoring in Australia in 2001.

With more than 20 million sold worldwide since launching in Japan in 1972, the Civic has a long and proud history throughout the world.

Honda is the world’s biggest engine manufacturer, a leader in automotive research and development and consistently rated a top performer in customer satisfaction. There are more than 400,000 Hondas on the road in Australia and millions of happy customers worldwide.
