GOODWOOD, UNITED KINGDOM – July 2, 2012: Formula One World Champion and Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel drove the car he helped shape, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition, for the first time on Saturday on the famed hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Infiniti Global Brand Ambassador had a hand in the car’s design and development from the earliest stages of a clay model right through to the concept that was debuted earlier this year.

Lighter and more aerodynamic, with 30 per cent greater downforce, the 420PS FX Vettel Edition remains true to the Frankfurt Motor Show concept and is Infiniti’s most powerful car.

It’s now in showrooms in a strictly limited edition of 150 cars for Western Europe, Russia and the Middle East, with deliveries beginning in the first quarter of 2013.

On Sunday, Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey took the wheel, whilst Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber had his first drive of the stunning mid-engined Infiniti EMERG-E.

Commenting after his drive, Sebastian Vettel said: "This is the first road car I have helped develop. The Infiniti handles really well and the power is good. It’s big enough to fit my mountain bike in, but the performance is really good and driving it up the Goodwood hill was great fun. It is fantastic for me to have contributed to the design of this car and I’m very excited to take delivery of my own!”
