MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – June 25, 2012: Mercedes-Benz invites drivers to Race Around the Web, a browser based game that will take participants on customised courses across blogs and give them the chance to win an all-new Mercedes-Benz B-Class.

Bloggers love traffic to their site, and are always looking for new ways to provide engaging content. Race Around The Web gives bloggers the opportunity to turn their blogs into race tracks. Bloggers simply design, build and embed their own track, in the form of a post on their blog, and allow participants to challenge their Facebook friends in a Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class.

Rebecca Williams, eMarketing Manager, Marketing Communications
“Both the C-Class My Reasons (www.myreasons.com.au) and Race Around The Web campaigns utilise Facebook as a way to connect with our audience online – three months ago we launched the Mercedes-Benz Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/MercedesBenzAU) today we have over 11,000 fans. Ultimately, it’s about engaging with new audiences and to do that, we must gain permission to start a conversation online. ”

Participants that complete and save races throughout the Race Around The Web campaign will be eligible for fortnightly prizes. Prizes will be awarded to users who race the most tracks in total. The fortnightly prizes total prize pool is valued at over $24,000.

To be in the running to win the major prize, a Mercedes-Benz B-Class, participants must race all five predetermined Championship Tracks which you can find listed on www.racearoundtheweb.com.au.
