SYDNEY – June 22, 2012: Holden fans have put their stamp on the new Thunder Ute TV commercial now on air.

Holden launched the commercial last week after a Facebook campaign that gave fans a chance to suggest a new tagline for the ad.

The previous commercial for the special edition Thunder Ute ended famously with “A big badge on the side that says...nah nah nah nah nah”.

Fans expressed their creativity by posting and sharing their own last line via a Facebook app and could also select from one of 12 pre-recorded alternate endings to share with their friends.

The three favourite entries were selected by the Holden ute marketing team and featured on the Holden Facebook page for fans to vote on.

The winning line, “No Backseat Drivers”, has been announced on the Holden Facebook page and was incorporated into the new commercial now being aired.

Holden’s Director of Marketing Simon Carr said the campaign gave Holden’s 300,000 Facebook fans a unique opportunity to influence Holden’s future advertising activity.

“This is the second time on air for the Thunder Ute campaign, which was originally launched last year on TV only. We had such a great response to the ad through our social channels that this time around we wanted to get our fans directly involved,” he said.

“This campaign was a first for Holden. I don’t know that we’ve ever offered our fans the opportunity to help write one of our commercials. Asking them to have their say with such a fun, strong creative was a great way to generate conversation and spark interest on the page.”
