Bevan Group flies new colours

Just two years on from its launch, the in-house graphics division at leading dry freight commercial vehicle bodybuilder Bevan Group is going from strength to strength.

Bevan offers customers a complete graphics design and livery application service for anything from a single truck or van, to a national distribution fleet.

Now, after investing in a new large-format, eco-friendly printer and recruiting two new staff members, the West Midlands-based company is able to offer an even faster and more comprehensive printing service - while at the same time improving both employee safety and the 'green' credentials of its operation.

The printer's eight-colour ink system offers both a wider range of colours and a lower ink usage than the team's previous full solvent machine. The inks also cure faster, producing shorter turnaround times and speedier deliveries for customers.

Graphics Manager John Enright says: "Our new printer uses nickel-free inks with a low VOC (volatile organic compound) content, which helps us to reduce our carbon footprint and create a safer working environment.

"Because the inks are eco-friendly, the product can be stored without risk and the cartridges recycled rather than being treated as hazardous material."

With headquarters in Halesowen, Bevan Group manufactures premium quality box, curtainside and platform bodies in high volumes for some of the biggest names on Britain's roads. It also offers specialist bodybuilding and vehicle finishing services, as well as back-up from the industry's leading aftercare team, who service and maintain ancillaries such as tail-lifts as well as bodies.

The addition to its portfolio in 2010 of a vehicle graphics capability represented another step in Bevan Group's strategy of providing its customers with a hassle-free, 'one- stop shop' service for commercial vehicle bodies.

The graphics team offer a comprehensive design service and employ the latest production technology, with computerised vinyl cutting facilities capable of producing anything from individual logos to full vehicle wraps.

"A strong vehicle livery represents a low-cost marketing opportunity that should not be missed," says John. "Our high- impact liveries combine strong adherence characteristics with excellent durability, and we use quality branded materials to ensure the right product for every application."
