MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – May 14, 2012: The thirty year history of the C-Class range has passed a new milestone with in excess of 30,000 of the current generation sold in Australia since launch in July 2007. The 30,000 sales benchmark was passed in February 2012 when the 30,000th C-Class sedan was delivered.

The month of February was also a month of note for Mercedes-Benz Australia when the ‘Car Manufacturers Satisfaction Monitor” conducted by Roy Morgan

Research had Mercedes-Benz as the number one automotive brand with 95% satisfaction matching its January 2012 figure.

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Mercedes-Benz Australia Pacific, David McCarthy said “We wanted to deliver to our customers the same

outstanding value in our “Edition 30” C-Class that they have enjoyed since the vehicle line was launched. We have delivered over 30,000 of the current generation C-Class sedans in Australia, this alone is a significant figure but it is between 35 and 98 percent higher than our traditional competitors.

With the “Edition 30” package (available on the C 200 BlueEFFICIENCY Sedan and C200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY) Sedan we have grouped together 17 inch alloy wheels, glass sunroof, COMAND (includes satellite navigation) and reversing camera for $3,390; this represents a saving of more than $3,000 if these features were ordered individually.

The introduction of Start/Stop engine technology to the four-cylinder petrol CClass Sedan and Estate has already delivered a price reduction due to these models coming in under the 7.0L/100km “Fuel Efficient” LCT threshold of $75,375.

Our position on the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) is well known; we do not believe or accept that any vehicle purchaser should pay LCT as it is a tax on technology and

safety. With the “Edition 30” package there is no LCT payable and surely that is a luxury we can all welcome. “
