Test-Drive the Production 2012 Fisker Karma as the Start-up Automaker Reaches a Pivotal Time in its Evolution

LOS ANGELES--February 23, 2012: On Feb. 28, Motor Press Guild (MPG), the largest automotive media association in North America, will host its monthly meeting at the Proud Bird Restaurant in Los Angeles with guest speaker Bill Tally, director of vehicle integration for Fisker Automotive. Tally will present the 2012 Fisker Karma now that pricing, emissions and crash tests are complete and customers are taking delivery.

The Orange County-based luxury car maker will showcase its new production model, offer limited test drives and share its unique story at a critical time in the company's short history.  The first Karmas were delivered late last year and since then, Fisker has confirmed about 1,500 Karma's have been built. Orders are outpacing production and current Karma sales will be able to support continued production.

"Fisker Automotive is on the verge of becoming a success story during a tumultuous time for the automotive industry," said Laura Burstein, president, Motor Press Guild. "We look forward to hearing more about the future of this company, especially since it's based in our own backyard."

Funded partly through Department of Energy's (DOE) advanced-vehicle-technology loan program, as well as a significant amount of venture capital, Fisker is in the process securing an additional $329 million of additional DOE loan money.  These funds will help the company continue its plans to build the Nina, a small, mass-market, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) at a former General Motors plant in Delaware.

Fisker Automotive is an American car company, founded in 2007, that produces electric vehicles with extended range (EVer) delivering what it calls "responsible luxury." The company is designing and developing a line of premium electric plug-in hybrids representing the company's firm belief that environmentally conscious cars need not sacrifice passion, style or performance.
