SHANGHAI--February 14, 2012: Automotive lightweighting is playing an increasingly important role in the green development of the vehicle industry in China. Under the circumstances of China's 12th Five-year Plan, CBI-BIZ, a branch of CBI China, decided to hold the 2nd International Automotive Lightweight Materials Development Forum 2012 on March 22nd-23rd in Guangzhou, China.

China's automotive industry has seen a rapid growth in the past decade, with auto sales ready to top 30 million by 2015, putting great pressure on the country's energy resources and environmental protection. Meanwhile, at the recent Frankfort Auto Show, most exhibitors exhibited their efforts to develop lighter cars, which are undoubtedly one of the mainstreams of the global automotive industry today.

It is disclosed that more than 80 companies have already registered for this forum. Famous OEMs such as General Motor, BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Honda, SAIC, FAW, Nissan, Dongfeng Motor, Great Wall Motor, Geely and BYD etc will attend this forum.

What is the newest technology in automotive lightweighting? What will the Chinese government do to support the progress of automotive lightweighting? How will Chinese OEMs find their unique ways to compete with the global OEMs? What kind of new material is the most competitive in the future? As the adhesion technology is always one of the most difficult to develop, are there any alternative solutions? Please join in our event, and we will give you an answer!

Confirmed and invited speakers:

Liyao Wang, Deputy Chairman, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers

Jing Lin, Deputy Secretary General, China FRP Industry Association

Tobias Giebel, China Research Center, President, Volkswagen
