SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – Feb 10, 2012: World Championship 1500m silver medallist, Hannah England, is taking her mind off the pressures of the up-coming 2012 season by setting herself the challenge of passing her driving test with Alfa Romeo, official car supplier to UK athletics (UKA).

Hannah took her first driving lesson in an Alfa Mito with the Motorvogue Driving School, Northampton, earlier this week, and is desperate to pass her driving test as she already has the keys to a brand new Alfa MiTo.

After her driving lesson, Hannah commented, “I didn’t crash! I had some lessons last year but then I got injured and I haven’t had a lesson for about 10 months, so I was very nervous; but having my Alfa MiTo at home is such a great incentive to learn how to drive!

“Obviously my main focus in 2012 is preparing for the Games this summer, but it’s ideal to have something else to focus on and take my mind off the pressures of training. I’m planning my lesson schedule now and hope to have passed within the next few months.”

Damien Dally, head of brand for Alfa Romeo UK, commented “We’re delighted that Hannah is learning to drive in an Alfa Romeo, and we will help her every step of the way. We wish her the best of luck on the road, and on the track, in such an important year for her.”

With the Alfa MiTo Sprint starting at just £12,950 OTR, and including a low insurance rating of 8, a five star EURO NCAP Safety rating, and three flexible finance packages – including a 0% APR offer, there’s never been a better time for young drivers to get behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo.

Alfa Romeo has been the ‘Official Car Supplier to UK Athletics’ (UKA) since 2006 and provides a fleet of vehicles to UKA coaches, staff and athletes, as well as a financial contribution to help support the UKA programme.
