COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM – Feb 1, 2012: Peugeot UK has today kick-started its 2012 plans by announcing that working with its Dealer network, the Brand has agreed to become official charity partner with the BBC’s Children in Need.

As part of the exciting partnership the leading motoring brand has set an ambitious target for fundraising for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children across the UK.

Peugeot will significantly increase its charity involvement with Pudsey bear and co with the creation of an official partnership, a move the Company hopes will be replicated for many years to come as the relationship between the two organisations grows over the coming months.

Speaking about the news, Andrew Didlick, Director of Communications at Peugeot Motor Company UK, said: “Children in Need has a long and impressive record of raising vast sums for worthwhile causes.

“Peugeot and Pudsey are a perfect fit. We were very impressed with our initial involvement with Children in Need last year and it seemed a natural next step to continue a partnership that will lead to us raising vital funds for disadvantaged children across the UK.

“We feel confident that our colleagues across the company, including our 250-strong UK-wide dealer network, and our loyal customers, will rise to the challenge of raising huge sums for this excellent cause.

“We take our charity fundraising very seriously but we are also confident that raising money for Children in Need will lead to a lot of fun along the way.

“This is set to be an exciting year for Peugeot in many ways and we look forward to raising as much money as possible for Children in Need.”

Following a recent reception at Downing Street, Children In Need announced that 2011 was the most successful year ever in its 32-year history, when it raised a record breaking £46m for worthwhile causes.

David Ramsden, BBC Children in Need Chief Executive, said: "It is fantastic to have Peugeot on board, helping us to raise money that will help change thousands of young lives right across the UK."
