EAGLE FARM, AUSTRALIA – Jan 30, 2012: The ever-versatile and powerful Isuzu D-Max remains Malaysia’s most fuel efficient pick-up truck when it won an unprecedented fourth consecutive Asian Auto Fuel Efficiency Award in Kuala Lumpur recently.

This highly-popular pick-up truck has swept the top award in its category every year since the magazine began to honour the most fuel-efficient vehicles in Malaysia with the awards back in 2008. It is the only vehicle in Malaysia to have retained the top prize for the four consecutive years.

CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Kimitoshi Kurokawa, who received the award on behalf of the company acknowledged Asian Auto magazine for its effort in creating the Fuel Efficiency Award.

"It is a noble effort by the magazine to raise the subject of fuel efficiency as a factor to consider when purchasing a vehicle,” he said.

“Many consumers are only made aware of the performance figures of a vehicle but the fuel efficiency numbers have direct long-term effects on the overall ownership cost and this could be a major burden in the years to come if customers are not made aware early," Kurokawa added.

The award underlines the Isuzu D-MAX's strength in fuel efficiency.

Recently, three variants of the D-Max, a 4x4 Manual 3.0-litre Single Cab, a 4x4 Manual 2.5-litre Double Cab and a 4x2 Auto 3.0-litre Double Cab were driven from Bangkok to Malacca, a distance of 1,600km using just one tank of fuel.
