What:

Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn will join other federal, state and local officials, UAW representatives and company employees to celebrate recent announcements at the Belvidere Assembly Plant and dedicate the new body shop.

Event begins at 10 a.m. (CST)
Media asked to arrive by 9 a.m.
Plant tours for media will be available (see below for details)

  • Pat Quinn, Governor, State of Illinois
  • A senior representative of the UAW
  • Frederic Brereton, Mayor, City of Belvidere
  • Kurt Kavajecz, Plant Manager, Belvidere Assembly Plant, Chrysler Group LLC

Plant Tours:

  • A plant tour for CAMERAS ONLY will be available at 8:15 a.m. Cameras participating on the tour MUST arrive by 8 a.m.
  • Tours for all other media will be scheduled following the event at Noon, 12:25 p.m. and 12:50 p.m. Tours will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please indicate a time preference when responding.
  • RSVP is required to participate in all plant tours. RSVP to Valerie Dezenski at valerie.dezenski@chrysler.com or 248.512.0497 by Jan. 31. No late RSVPs will be accepted due to space constraints.
  • Proper attire is required (long pants and flat, closed toed shoes).

Details:

Media parking is in the HR Parking Lot at Gate 2 (west of the main lobby parking). Media can enter the plant through the HR lobby under the blue awning at the back of the administrative building.

Event parking for Satellite and Microwave trucks will be through Gate 3 on Townhall Road (second left). Follow the signage. Gate 3 will open at 6 a.m. Please RSVP for a map with additional directions.
