Consumer, National Security & Business Leaders to Hold National Tele-Town Hall on Proposed 54.5 MPG Standard

WASHINGTON, DC: This Thursday, the country's two largest consumer organizations will join veteran and small business leaders on a national tele-town hall meeting in support of the proposed 54.5 mile per gallon federal standard for cars, SUVs and light trucks.

The purpose of the town hall is to expand the reach of the public hearings hosted by the Environmental Protection Agency and National Highway Traffic Administration held next week in Detroit, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. 

Town hall leaders, who will also be attending the EPA/NHTSA hearings in person, will give support to the proposed 54.5 mpg standard and offer citizens an opportunity to record their thoughts and comments for submission at the hearings.
