California-based EV Company and the Bay Area's Venerable Automotive Dealer to Bring the CODA 2012 sedan to Northern CA Drivers

SAN JOSE, CA--Jan. 5, 2012 -- CODA Automotive, a leading developer of all-electric vehicles, today announced its intention to make Del Grande Dealer Group (DGDG) its first dealer partner in Northern California when it initiates consumer sales of its CODA 2012 sedan.

"DGDG is a true champion for EVs and we'll be thrilled to work with them as our first Northern California dealer," said Phil Murtaugh, CEO, CODA Holdings. "With more than 40 years of experience in serving the Bay Area, and an outstanding reputation for service, sales and community relations, DGDG is the ideal partner for the progressive and fast growing Bay Area electric vehicle market."

The dealership's first CODA-branded showroom is slated to make its debut in March 2012. As CODA expands its automotive line of business, DGDG is anticipated to expand to other locations throughout the East Bay, Mid-Peninsula, Sacramento, and San Francisco.

"We're proud to welcome CODA as our first all-electric vehicle manufacturer to our group," said Shaun Del Grande, President, DGDG. "Northern California is the perfect location for the launch and proliferation of the CODA 2012 sedan and we can't wait to introduce the EV to the community of enthusiastic drivers who seek independence from fossil fuel."

The family owned and operated dealer has served the Northern California region for more than 40 years. The Del Grande Dealer Group has proven its leadership market with best-in-class Customer Satisfaction ratings by manufacturers, YELP.com and Google Reviews.  They have also led the market in bringing the most reputable electric vehicles and cars to the market and have been consistently lauded as a top dealer among the 7 automotive brands in 8 locations that it currently represents.  Beyond sales and service, DGDG serves the local community with its deep involvement in local and national organizations such as the San Jose Ballet, The American Heart Association, and the San Francisco Susan G. Komen 3-Day event. Additionally, this year the group was named as a "Bay Area Top Workplace" by the San Jose Mercury News.

The CODA 2012 sedan is the first all-electric five-passenger, mid-size sedan with full rear seating and trunk space that meets American drivers' daily transportation needs without an ounce of gasoline:

  • Delivers the best range in its class: A class-leading battery pack enables a fully charged CODA to go from San Jose to San Francisco and back.
  • Fast and Easy Recharging: a 6.6kW onboard charger provides an unbeatable charging speed.
  • Features the best battery technology: the CODA sedan is powered by a safe and efficient battery pack, features an air-cooled active thermal management system, and a best-in-class 10-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty.

The CODA 2012 sedan will make its Silicon Valley International Auto Show debut and will be on display from Jan. 5 through Jan. 8. More information and reservations for the CODA are available at Coda Automotive.
