WHAT:

Opening day at the 2012 Silicon Valley International Auto Show offers car enthusiasts an up-close look at hundreds of new cars, trucks, crossovers, sport/utility vehicles and more. Attendees are invited to climb in several new models, check leg room and imagine themselves in a brand new ride. The auto show is the perfect place to learn more about popular green trends and check out the latest in electric vehicles, hybrids, fuel efficient gas vehicles, exotics and more.

Auto Sales Up in Silicon Valley -- year-to-date, more vehicles are being sold in this market, up nearly 14 percent over last year, mirroring the national average. The average age of a vehicle is now 10.6 years and manufacturers have a plethora of new models to choose from, making it the perfect time to buy a new car.

Hundreds of Hot New Models -- From FIAT to Fisker, check out hundreds of the latest models from dozens of manufacturers and see what vehicles are popular with showgoers.

It's Electric -- check out the latest electric vehicles including the Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Volt, 2012 Ford Focus Electric, Fisker and CODA.
