HIGH WYCOMBE, UNITED KINGDOM – Jan 3, 2012: I am pleased to announce that Ian Tonkin has joined the Hyundai UK PR team as Product & Corporate PR Manager. Ian joins us from London-based agency Automotive PR where he worked as Account Manager supporting several key clients across the commercial and passenger vehicle sectors.

After completing university, Ian began his working career as a motoring writer in South Africa until he moved to the UK where he continued to pursue his passion for cars and the motor industry with stints at Autocar, Commercial Motor and Motor Transport magazines.

Ian said: “Hyundai is one of the most exciting car brands in the UK and I am really looking forward to joining the company as it continues to go from strength to strength. With several new models joining the line-up in 2012 it promises to be a busy, but exciting year ahead.”

Ian will be responsible for corporate and product PR communications and starts his new role today.

Our team has also recently seen the welcome addition of our new PR administrator, Nayab Khan, who joined us back in November 2011. Nayab joined us from London-based PR agency, Media Moguls and has a degree in journalism. She will be responsible for keeping us all on the straight and narrow but more importantly for you, she will manage the Hyundai Press Fleet.

I also have the very great pleasure of working with Headlineauto’s PR Rising Star of the Year, Laura King. Laura was promoted to Media Relations Manager back in July last year and will assume responsibility in the new team for developing and implementing Hyundai’s non-automotive media strategy, as well as managing all media drive events.
