New App Lets Users Configure, Visualize and Price New Scion Models

FYI: Scion Buyer's Guide

LONG BEACH, CA--Dec. 20, 2011: Cie Studios, a developer of custom social, mobile and web applications, today announced its collaboration with Scion to deliver Build A Scion , a new app for iOS devices that provides potential car buyers the freedom and opportunity to configure, visualize and price new Scion vehicles.

In Build A Scion, users can select any Scion vehicle - including the new iQ, xB, xD or tC models -- and choose from an array of accessories and colors to generate numerous combinations. Users can also save and compare their customized vehicles in their own, personal showroom and virtually view their modified cars before purchase. Additionally, creating an account on Build A Scion automatically registers users on Scion.com, allowing users to view and synch configurations from the app and the website. Undecided users can take the "Which Scion are you Quiz" to determine which vehicle fits their lifestyles and personalities. When users are ready to purchase, the app provides information on the closest Scion dealers and allows users to submit questions and quote requests directly through the app.

Because Scion dealers and accessories are frequently added and updated, the app was designed to handle these copy and image changes without requiring a new version release. The app also uses Scion services to calculate payments and send price requests.

"For people interested in buying Scion vehicles, Build A Scion offers an interactive and fun way to navigate a potentially challenging and time consuming process," said Edward Yu, president of Cie Studios. "Scion's new app embraces individuality and creativity – synonymous with Scion's community of car owners. Build A Scion promotes customization and also offers car enthusiasts the opportunity to explore many different options available directly from Scion."

Key Features in Build A Scion include:

  • Configure, visualize and price new Scion models -- iQ, xB, xD or tC
  • Create numerous accessories and color combinations
  • Compare up to five vehicles in your showroom
  • View configured cars in a 360-degree rotation
  • Check out saved configurations at Scion.com
  • Take the "Which Scion are You?" quiz
  • Find and contact local Scion dealers

The Build A Scion app is free for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (requires iOS 4.0 or later) and is coming soon to Android devices. Build A Scion can be downloaded at: iTunes Scion.
