Yuchai Engine Wins 2011 Outstanding Commercial Vehicle Engine Award

SINGAPORE--Dec. 16, 2011: China Yuchai International Limited ("China Yuchai" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the YC6L-40 diesel engine manufactured by its major subsidiary, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company Limited, Yulin, China ("GYMCL"), has won the "2011 Outstanding Commercial Vehicle Engine" Award at the Auto Sports' Top 10 Engines award ceremony in China. The Company extends its congratulations to GYMCL's management and staff on its success.

Considered an authority by vehicle consumers and manufacturers, Auto Sports Magazine has organized the annual Top 10 Engines Competition since 2006. Commercial vehicle engines were included in this year's competition for the first time. A total of 36 engines from 30 different engine companies entered this year's competition. After three months of rigorous review and evaluation, the expert committee assessed the finalist engines based on their power, technology, energy conservation, sales performance and test-drive evaluation.  

With its improved fuel efficiency, low emission and noise, and reduced weight, Yuchai's YC6L-40 diesel engine won the only award for the 2011 Outstanding Commercial Vehicle Engine.
