GEICO Named to 2012 List of Best Places to Work in Virginia

WASHINGTON--December 12, 2011: In recognition of GEICO's efforts as a top employer in the state, Virginia Business and Best Companies Group have named GEICO one of the 2012 Best Places to Work in Virginia.

GEICO has more than 25,000 associates companywide, with close to 5,400 in Virginia--roughly 3,000 in Fredericksburg and roughly 2,400 in Virginia Beach. GEICO is the second-largest private passenger insurer in the state of Virginia, with close to 550,000 policyholders.

The Best Places to Work in Virginia survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state's economy, its work force and businesses. The ranking of the 2^nd annual Best Places to Work in Virginia will be unveiled and published in the February 2012 issue of Virginia Business.
