SYDNEY – Dec 8, 2011: Kia’s perennial favourite with the folks that know, the Grand Carnival, has continued an unprecedented run of success by winning a fourth consecutive carsales.com.au People’s Choice Award as Australia’s most popular people mover.

The Grand Carnival dominates the people mover segment of the Australian new car market with more than one-in-three of new people movers sold in Australia wearing the Kia badge.

Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer, Tony Barlow, said the People Choice Award was an especially satisfying result.

“The People’s Choice Awards differ from many others in that they are reflection of genuine buyers looking to make a personal choice in the market,” Mr Barlow said. “To have won such an award four years in a row is a wonderful endorsement of the Grand Carnival and of Kia.”

The carsales.com.au People’s Choice Awards are an important measure of the strength of brands and models in the new car marketplace with voting based on genuine customer new car purchase enquiries placed via carsales’ network of sites.

"There seems to be new Car of the Year awards popping up everywhere,” carsales.com.au Editor-In-Chief Mike Sinclair said.

“The carsales.com.au People's Choice Awards are very different – they consistently reflect new car shoppers' preferences and have done so since they were introduced in 2003.

"New car buyers are now better informed than ever. The People's Choice Awards reflect the informed choices genuine new car shoppers are making.”
