SYDNEY – Nov 24, 2011: The magnificent Mégane Renault Sport 250 has been crowned as the ‘Drive Car of the Year’ for the second year running in the ‘Best Performance Car under $60,000’ category.

Despite tough competition, the judges concluded: “In the end it was a cakewalk, with the RS 250 garnering a unanimous vote. Judges lavished praise on its willing engine, excellent grip, sporty racing-style bucket seats and more dramatic looks than its competitors.”

According to Renault Australia Managing Director Justin Hocevar, the Mégane Renault Sport 250 has been a standout member of the Renault family since launch last October.

“We were delighted, though not surprised, last year when the Mégane Renault Sport 250 won its category, but to retain the pre-eminent position among a very tough field of rivals indicates that there is true depth to this car, not just in terms of performance, but also in terms of its enduring appeal to car enthusiasts.

“We thank the judges for their clarity, as we know very well that they really put the car to the test. The result reinforces Renault’s premiere position as the maker of very sporty cars, not to mention powering two consecutive Formula 1 World Championship drivers and constructors to their respective titles,” Justin said.
