INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 18, 2011: As the annual International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) continues to grow, so does the list of racing sanctioning bodies that plan to hold their season-ending awards dinners in Indianapolis during IMIS.

Six racing sanctioning bodies will honor their champions in Indianapolis during the third edition of IMIS, a three-day trade show featuring seminars, conferences and hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest in racing parts and technology Dec. 8-10 at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

The awards dinners start Thursday night, Dec. 8, with the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model banquet at Lucas Oil Stadium. Friday night, Dec. 9, features three championship celebrations -- the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Division Three banquet, the United States Auto Club (USAC) National Awards Dinner and The Off-Road Championship (TORC) Pro Series banquet. The final two events are awards programs for the Intercontinental Trophy Cup Porsche Cayman Series and the USAC National Quarter-Midget Series.

“As we grow the International Motorsports Industry Show, we are finding more and more sanctioning bodies and other groups planning events in Indianapolis around the show dates,” said IMIS co-founder Chris Paulsen, owner of C&R Racing in Indianapolis. “These awards dinners are perfect examples of groups doing just this, and it’s a win-win for everyone. The racers with these sanctioning bodies now have two reasons to come to Indy.”

Several disciplines of racing are represented in the lineup of awards dinners, including drag racing, dirt Late Model Stock car racing, sports car racing and open-wheel racing.
