VACC Welcomes the Appointment of Ken Lay as the new Victoria Police Chief Commissioner

VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Nov 16, 2011: VACC has welcomed the appointment of Ken Lay as the new Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police.

“This is one of the most important roles in the State and given recent events, it is most appropriate that a seasoned and well respected ‘local’ has been appointed to the position. As the 21st Police Commissioner, he will do a great job,” VACC Executive Director, David Purchase, said.

“VACC has worked with Mr Lay particularly in the area of road safety and we know he will be a steady hand on the tiller.

“VACC has always found Mr Lay to be calm, level-headed and sincere, with an excellent grasp of policing issues.

“We wish him well in his new job and have no doubt that he will lead Victoria Police with distinction. VACC looks forward to continuing to work with Mr Lay in the future,” Mr Purchase said.
