FULLERTON, Nov. 8, 2011: The new 2012 Toyota Prius v is the latest addition to Yokohama Tire Corporation’s growing OE fitment program. The Prius v – a five-seat crossover – on sale now in the U.S. and Canada, features Yokohama’s eco-friendly BluEarth® S34BZ™ tires in size P205/60R16 91V.

“The Prius has become very iconic among consumers who are eco-aware and with active lifestyles,” said Jeremy Kahrs, Yokohama director, OE Sales. “Yokohama is proud, especially because BluEarth S34 is the latest embodiment of our global environmental philosophy also termed, BluEarth®, aimed at harmonizing our products and operations with the environment.” BluEarth S34BZ utilizes Yokohama’s proprietary orange-oil technology, which uses orange oil to cut the use of petroleum.

The Prius v is also a finalist in the Green Car Journal’s 2012 Green Car of the Year® award. The winner will be announced during Press Day on November 17 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
