VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – Nov 3, 2011: Michelle Lang has been appointed PR and Marketing Manager, Opel Australia, effective 18 November 2011.

Ms Lang has spent the past eight years with BMW Group Australia in both Marketing and Public Relations management roles, most recently as BMW and MINI Lifestyle and Sustainability Communications Manager.

Opel Australia's Managing Director, Bill Mott, said Ms Lang brought valuable combined marketing and public relations experience to Opel.

“We welcome Michelle to the Opel Australia team and to her new role which will be vital in driving the launch of the brand in Australia. Michelle brings a rare combination of communications and marketing skills with experience across business development, dealer training, marketing financial services products, media relations and a passion for the automotive industry,” he said.

“This is an exciting time for Opel, and we can't wait to start our pre-launch activities and to tell Australia about the Opel brand.”

Part of GM's International Operations structure, Opel Australia will be co-located with GM sister brand Holden in its Port Melbourne headquarters and will launch in the second half of 2012.

Ms Lang will report directly to Mr Mott, and maintain close working relationships with the GM Holden Corporate Affairs and Marketing teams.
