NEWTON, MA--Oct. 31, 2011: H.C. Starck was honored with the Oro "Gold" Award at the Annual Sandia National Laboratories Supplier Conference held October 5, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. H.C. Starck was one of 15 manufacturing companies, out of 126 suppliers, selected as winners of the Oro Award.

"We are very proud that our customers honor continuous improvement efforts from our production, quality, and customer service teams in Euclid," says Robert Desberg, Regional Sales Manager. Robert was presented with the award by Tim Gardner, SNL Senior Manager of Product Delivery Value Stream and Jaime Moya, SNL Senior Manager of Explosive Technologies and CDM Programs.

H.C. Starck, who provides high quality materials in a timely manner that meet Sandia's stringent quality requirements, received a commitment performance rating of better than 98% for on time delivery and quality. Achievements as these are due to the continuous improvements being made at H.C. Starck's facilities that exceed the customer's expectations. The Euclid, Ohio facility made significant improvements in customer satisfaction, product quality, and on-time delivery with its Lean Manufacturing initiatives and Six Sigma training.

"Recognition of the Euclid plant's performance from Sandia is exciting and reflects the hard work by all involved," says Greg Fuller, Director of Midwest Operations at H.C. Starck. "The plant and support teams understand the need to satisfy our customer with good quality and delivery."

The Sandia National Laboratories are part of the U.S. Department of Energy with 8,300 employees and a $ 2.3 billion budget.
