Ficosa Establishes a New Business Unit for Energy Efficiency (Upprime Energy)

VILADECAVALLS, BARCELONA, SPAIN – October 20, 2011: Spanish multinational Ficosa has started up the new Energy Efficiency business unit, with the name Upprime Energy. The new company will offer “technology, inspection and certification services in the areas of safety and energy efficiency to convey the capacities and technologic developments of Ficosa to the final customer”. The new company will be directed by Sergio Pastor, who will temporarily continue as board member in Tecnitoys, holder of the Spanish patent of the trademark Scalextric. Pastor will support Ficosa with his excellent background. He has been CEO of Applus+ (Agbar Group) and Financial Director of Sony Espaņa.

Ficosa has entrusted Sergio Pastor with the task of turning the company into a benchmark player in a market with important expected growths, following the trend already experienced by other countries such as Germany.
