SYDNEY – Oct 3, 2011: Hyundai Motor Company’s all-new i40 Tourer is now arriving in Australian showrooms and brings an exciting wagon alternative to the medium segment.

Designed and engineered at Hyundai’s R&D headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the all-new i40 Tourer captures the spirit of Hyundai’s new brand slogan “New Thinking. New Possibilities.” and boasts a European pedigree.

The all-new i40 Tourer exhibits Hyundai’s unique design language ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ presenting a sleek, elegant silhouette with distinctive graphic elements featuring the signature hexagonal front grille and swept back headlights.

The interior design focuses on the sculptural and ergonomic integration of i40 Tourer’s functions to provide optimal comfort for driver and passengers alike. Spacious and luxurious, the i40 Tourer offers high quality finishes throughout the cabin.

Equipped with the highest levels of standard safety features across the range, including Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), nine airbags, LED daytime running lights and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), the all-new i40 Tourer offers advanced automotive technology to complement its superb on-road performance which has been specifically calibrated for Australian conditions.

All-new i40 Tourer is available in three trim levels - Active, Elite and Premium, mated with either an all-new 2.0-litre GDI petrol engine or all-new 1.7-litre CRDi diesel engines with a choice of either a six-speed manual (Active only) or six-speed auto transmission. The 1.7-litre turbo-diesel engine combined with the six-speed manual transmission delivers a fuel economy rating of 4.7 L/100kms^ and a CO2 rating of just 124 g/km.
