SYDNEY – Sept 30, 2011: In the U.S., Hyundai Motor Company has been awarded two 2011 Motorist Choice Awards, with the all-new Elantra taking out the Popular Value category and the Genesis chosen as the winner for the Popular Luxury Lifestyle category.

The Motorist Choice Awards are now in their sixth year and were created by IntellChoice and AutoPacific to recognise vehicles that deliver a compelling combination of high consumer satisfaction and lower-than-expected ownership costs.

“The Motorist Choice Award methodology is designed to help consumers identify vehicles that speak to their hearts and their wallets,” said Tyler Schulze, vice president and general manager of IntelliChoice.

“The 2011 award winners all share a connection with buyers from both a satisfaction standpoint and overall value as compared to their peers. Based on this compelling combination, we are pleased to recommend these vehicles to consumers as a guide for good purchase decisions.”

The sixth annual Motorist Choice Awards were co-developed by AutoPacific, known for its vehicle satisfaction rankings and IntelliChoice.com, the online source for automotive ownership cost and value analysis. The awards acknowledge vehicles that deliver both the highest vehicle satisfaction and the lowest cost of ownership. This year, IntelliChoice and AutoPacific continued categorising the winners into a collection of 15 popular lifestyle segments that shoppers could easily identify with. The winners were announced at the Orange County International Auto Show at the Anaheim Convention Centre.

Hyundai is also proving its popularity in Australia having been voted as the best value for money automotive brand in an independent survey conducted by the country’s leading market research professionals, Colmar Brunton, on behalf of CANSTAR Blue. Hyundai sedan owners were also found to be the most satisfied overall of all sedan customers in the automotive category.
