Changes To The Board Of Honda Australia

TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – Sept 28, 2011: Honda Australia is pleased to announce changes to its Board of Directors, effective 1 October 2011.

Lindsay Smalley will step down from his duties as Senior Director and take on the role of Principal Advisor to the Board and Company Spokesperson. Lindsay will continue in his role as Chairman of The Honda Foundation.

Honda Australia Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Satoshi Matsuzawa thanked Lindsay for his contribution to Honda over the past 22 years.

“Lindsay joined Honda in 1989 and has enjoyed a long and successful career. He has made a significant and positive contribution to the company. We are delighted that he has decided to stay on in an advisory role until he is ready to retire and look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the future,” Mr. Matsuzawa said.

Lindsay Smalley is well-respected in the automotive industry and is currently the Vice President of the FCAI. He worked in several management roles at Honda before being appointed Director in 2000 and promoted to Senior Director in 2003.

Honda Australia’s Board has been working collaboratively over recent months to ensure a smooth transition to a new generation of leadership.

The Board is therefore proud to announce the appointment of Stephen Collins as a Director. Stephen will continue his current role as General Manager Sales and Marketing.

“Stephen re-joined Honda in 2009 after many years in the automotive industry. He has enthusiastically accepted the role of Director and we look forward to this next phase in leadership,” Mr. Matsuzawa said.
