AVL Smoothly Transitions Leadership for Powertrain Engineering Business in North America

PLYMOUTH, MI--Sept. 27, 2011: Today AVL announced that Dimitri Kazarinoff has joined AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc. (PEI), as the executive director of sales and marketing where he will focus on the profitable growth of the commercial and large engine business.  Previously Vice President and General Manager of the Hybrid Power Systems Division of Eaton Corporation, Mr. Kazarinoff's experience includes having managed and directed key initiatives in emerging technologies, leading engineering efforts in heavy-duty transmissions, and conducting global marketing for truck components.

In a related announcement, AVL PEI's President, Ray Corbin, will transition to a role supporting Don Manvel, chairman and CEO, AVL North America, with the growing Global Customer Accounts. On January 1, 2012, Mr. Kazarinoff will assume the position and responsibilities as president of AVL.

"During his eight-year tenure at the company, Ray led the division to consistent, double-digit revenue growth and established AVL PEI as a premier service provider in multiple powertrain market segments," said Manvel. "We believe Dimitri is an outstanding choice to build on the progress Ray has made, aggressively pursue our commitment to understand and support our customer's needs, and provide viable solutions that address their challenges."
