Motorsports Venues - Thunderhill Raceway Revises 2012 Race Dates

KYLE, September 16, 2011: After announcing its 2012 race dates a few weeks ago, Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) is making a few adjustments to several of the dates. Since Houston Motorsports Park (HMP) is also a NASCAR-sanctioned track and races a couple of the same divisions (Modifieds and Trucks), having non-conflicting schedules will make it easier for the drivers to make plans for the 2012 stock car racing events.

“We had hoped to have a more consistent schedule for next year, but we also realize that it’s important to coordinate our race dates with our sister track, Houston Motorsports Park,” said Mary Ann Naumann, Thunderhill Raceway’s Owner/Promoter. “We understand that HMP had already put together some tentative dates when our schedule was released a few weeks ago. They had already secured sponsors for most of the races, and they also had considered some pending drag strip events when determining their race dates.”

Both Thunderhill Raceway and Houston Motorsports Park are currently part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Thunderhill Raceway plans to retain its affiliation with NASCAR in 2012.

Thunderhill Raceway will end its 2011 season with two upcoming events. The Texas Stock Car Spectacular is scheduled for next Friday, September 23, and Saturday, September 24. This two-day event will feature 11 divisions of racing, with drivers battling for points to claim championship titles.

The 2011 season finale will be the Crash Fest that’s scheduled for Sunday, October 2, at 2PM.
