FRANKFURT, Germany, 15 September - Over 200 assistants and students from 20 TUM Chairs have been working on the concept over the past 18 months and are now ready to unveil the prototype of this efficient, affordable and safe electric car. At the IAA, the public will be able to see the vehicle’s final design for the first time at the Bayern Innovativ booth (Hall 4.0, Booth C23).

Design

As Donald Judd once said: “A table is a table is a table.” It can equally be said that a car is a car is a car. That is true to some extent. But an electric car is not quite the same. Here designers are faced with new challenges and possibilities when it comes to the formalities and esthetics of available space, speed and noise emissions. Electric cars are like no cars we have previously driven. That is why we grasped this unique opportunity to make some true design innovations.
