SYDNEY – Sept 12, 2011: In support of Blue September, Hyundai presented a cheque for $100,000 to Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia representatives at a ceremony held in Sydney on Friday 9th September. This is the third consecutive year Hyundai Motor Company Australia and the Hyundai dealer network have joined forces to support Blue September.

An annual nationwide charity programme, Blue September seeks to raise awareness of men’s cancer for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bowel Cancer Australia, as well as help men reduce the risk of developing cancer by sharing the message that making healthy lifestyle choices can prevent male cancer deaths.

Hyundai is also supporting Blue September through a nationwide competition which will see one lucky person win an all-new Hyundai Accent Elite hatch, by simply visiting www.blueseptember.org.au and making a donation of $5 or more, during the month of September.

Hyundai’s commitment to Blue September swung into action in August. A comprehensive national campaign saw the Hyundai dealer network pledge to donate $100 from each new vehicle sold during the Hyundai ‘3-Day Sale’ to Blue September. Almost 1000 vehicles were sold over the three days, raising $100,000 for this vital cause.

Hyundai further endorsed the Blue September initiative at the high profile Qantas Socceroo World Cup qualifier match against Thailand held on 2nd September. Volunteers distributed 10,000 Blue September wristbands, raising both awareness and funds at the match.
