FRANKFURT – Sept 9, 2011: As the organisers prepare to open the door to this year’s IAA in Frankfurt next week, a team of around 1,000 people are on site putting the finishing touches to the Volkswagen stand in Hall 3.

Shaped like a cloud, the 8,893 square metre stand will accommodate over 50 vehicles and is designed to showcase the new up! city car which is making its public debut along with the recently unveiled new generation Beetle, new Tiguan and Golf Cabriolet. The NILS single-seat electric commuting vehicle concept will also be making its world premiere.

As well as the cars themselves, Volkswagen is using a 30 metre interactive wall which will give visitors a taste of mobility in the future, as well as presenting details on innovations and alternative technologies.

Volkswagen’s Motorsport and Commercial Vehicle divisions will also be displaying a number of new models in Hall 3.

There will be a press conference on the first press day (Tuesday 13 September) at 11:20 on the Volkswagen stand.

Along with a host of cars, 2,100 lamps and roughly 80 kilometres of cables, visitors to the stand can expect to see members of the Volkswagen UK press and public relations team as detailed below. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday or Wednesday morning for a cool drink, a chat about cars and a moan about sore feet (Kate’s specialist subject).
