LOUISVILLE, KY--Sept. 2, 2011 -- The membership of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has elected Dometic Corporation President Doug Whyte as Director of this prestigious organization. This will be Whyte's second term on the RVIA Board of Directors, which sets policy and standards for the national association. The membership is mostly comprised of top executive leaders from the RV OEM and RV Supplier community as well as leaders from the RVIA organization.

"In my previous term, I was honored to serve on the Public and Legislative Affairs Committee, the new China Committee, and to act as Chairman of the Awards Committee. These important positions allowed me to help promote the RV industry and lifestyle to those in National and local government, media and community organizations," said Whyte. "I look forward to working with my fellow Board members in this new three-year term."

Dometic Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Swedish private equity firm EQT, is one of the foremost manufacturers of innovative products for the Recreational Vehicle industry throughout North America. Whyte's position on the RVIA Board of Directors continues Dometic's proud tradition of leadership in the RV industry. The company traces its roots back to 1922, and the invention of absorption technology that created the basis for the first electric refrigerator.

As President of Dometic Corporation, Doug Whyte has overseen a relocation of the national headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky, an expansion of the Dometic Corporation product line, and a strengthening of the company's dealer support and a new push in Dometic's ecommerce and social media presence.

"Experienced RVers know the Dometic name signifies a commitment to quality and innovation," said Whyte. "Through our growing product line, we will continue to reach out to the outdoor enthusiasts, weekend vacationers and those new to the RV experience."
