Acura August 2011 U.S Sales Decreased 24.5%

TORRANCE, Calif. , Sept. 1, 2011 -- Acura posted August sales of 9,054, a decrease of 24.5 percent compared to August 2010, based on the daily selling rate*. Year-to-date sales totaled 79,136 units, down 8.1 percent versus last year.

“August marked a return to normal production levels for most of our models,�?? said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “We remain optimistic for a resilient year as Acura dealerships rebuild their inventory to meet our customer’s needs.�??

The MDX continues as Acura’s sales leader with 3,126 units sold. TL reported 2,404 sales for the month and TSX 2,263 units, down 19.8 and 10 percent respectively.
