Eden crackles with excitement over Tesla Roadster: The Tesla Roadster is one of the stars of the show at the Sexy Green Electric Vehicle Showcase, taking place at the Eden Project until August 28. The event is a collaboration between Eden and Ecodrive, a Cornwall-based company promoting the use of electric vehicles, and is a successor to the Sexy Green Car Show, the world's first environmentally-friendly motor show held at Eden in 2007 and 2008. The Tesla Roadster, which has been on loan from ZeroCarbonWorld, is an all-electric car that can travel 245 miles on a single charge.

During the showcase, people have also been able to have a go at driving four different models of electric cars; the Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Peugeot iOn, and Smart fortwo electric drive, for themselves. Gus Grand, Eden's Climate Change Programme Manager, said: "The showcase has been a great success so far. The cars have attracted a lot of attention and being able to test-drive the models has made people think twice about the idea of an electric vehicle." Entry to the showcase comes free with the usual admission prices to Eden.
