LONDON – Aug 25, 2011: A fleet of the latest MG cars are touring the country in an initiative which hopes to raise thousands of pounds for two worthy charities.

Thirty MG6 GT and MG6 Magnette sports saloon models are touring Britain in ‘The Great British Charity Test Drive’ in support of Macmillan Cancer Support and Help for Heroes.

As the cars, in cavalcades of 10 specially liveried squads, tour the country they will call in at motorway service stations, tourist spots, sports grounds and places of interest. They will also call in at most MG dealerships around Britain.

Anyone over the age of 25 who takes a test drive in either an MG6 GT or an MG6 Magnette before the end of September will be able to nominate one of the two charities which will then receive a £5 donation from MG Motor UK.

Clint Cordle, MG Motor UK’s Marketing Manager, said: “We are delighted to support this unique way of getting prospective customers to try the new MGs and support two very worthy charities.

“As a ‘Thank You’ for their support, our dealers will also give a special MG ‘Great British Days Out’ pass card to everyone who takes a test drive. This provides two-for one access to more than 250 attractions and the pass is valid for 12 months so it’s really worth having.”
